Our 5-Factor Weighted Scoring Rubric
Every tool receives a score from 1.0 to 10.0 calculated with a strict mathematical formula.
1. Value for Money
25% WeightIs the starting price reasonable for a small business? Are there hidden per-minute or per-token usage traps? Does the software demonstrably pay for itself within the first 30 days by replacing expensive manual labor or capturing missed sales leads?
2. Output Quality & Reliability
25% WeightCan the output be shown directly to customers without embarrassing hallucinations, robotic latency, or awkward robotic cadence? In voice tools, we test natural turn-taking and background noise handling. In video tools, we examine caption accuracy and visual rendering.
3. Small-Business Fit
20% WeightWas this built for solo founders, contractors, and local service providers, or is it an enterprise developer framework disguised as a business app? We penalize tools that require writing code or managing complex server infrastructure unless specifically tagged as developer tools.
4. Ease of Setup
20% WeightHow fast can a busy owner get a working system live? Under 15 minutes gets top marks. Systems requiring lengthy sales calls, mandatory multi-day onboarding, or complex webhook configurations receive lower setup scores.
5. Support & Company Reliability

Realistic Score Distribution
Many software directories give almost every listing a 9.5 or 4.9 out of 5 to keep sponsors happy. We maintain strict curve discipline:
- No tool ever receives a 10.0: No software is perfect; every tool has bugs, limitations, or pricing trade-offs.
- Fewer than 25% score 8.5 or higher: A score of 8.5+ is reserved for elite, category-defining products that deliver extraordinary value.
- Honest cons on every single review: Every tool page includes at least two critical drawbacks and notes who the tool is not suitable for.
Our Verification Badges
Awarded when our editorial team has actively connected the software to real operational phone lines, calendars, or production pipelines in an active service business (e.g. cleaning, moving, or home service operations).
Awarded when a tool has undergone extensive feature analysis, pricing verification directly from public plans, documentation review, and user feedback synthesis, but has not yet been deployed in a 30-day live field test.
How We Make Money
We believe in complete transparency. We earn revenue in two ways:
- Affiliate Links: When you click certain links on our site and sign up for a paid plan, we may receive a referral commission at no additional cost to you.
- Fast-Track Review Submissions: Software creators can pay a $39 fee to have their tool reviewed and indexed within 3 business days instead of waiting in our standard free queue.
Our Golden Rule: Paying a review fee or having an affiliate program never changes our editorial score. A bad tool with high affiliate payouts will still receive an honest low score or be rejected entirely.
